Proxmox has announced a major expansion of its enterprise support offering with the introduction of global 24/7 technical support for its enterprise customers.

Starting October 19, 2026, customers with a Proxmox Premium subscription will have access to Proxmox enterprise support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across all time zones. The expanded support covers Proxmox Virtual Environment (Proxmox VE), Proxmox Backup Server, and Proxmox Datacenter Manager.

For organizations running business-critical workloads on Proxmox, this is an important development. It gives customers a direct vendor escalation path whenever a serious infrastructure issue occurs, regardless of the time of day.

Why 24/7 Support Matters

Virtualization infrastructure is at the heart of modern IT environments.

A Proxmox VE cluster may be hosting databases, ERP applications, email systems, web applications, identity services and many other critical business workloads. If the virtualization platform encounters a serious problem outside normal business hours, waiting until the next support window may not be acceptable.

With the introduction of Proxmox 24/7 enterprise support, Premium customers can raise critical issues at any time.

This is particularly valuable for organizations operating:

  • Mission-critical applications
  • 24/7 business operations
  • Datacenters and hosting environments
  • Multi-country or multi-time-zone infrastructure
  • Financial, healthcare and government systems
  • Private cloud and enterprise virtualization platforms

For these customers, round-the-clock access to vendor support provides an additional level of operational assurance.

Direct Access to Proxmox Engineers

One of the most important aspects of the new service is that support continues to be provided directly by Proxmox’s global engineering and support team.

This means customers are not simply contacting a generic outsourced support desk.

When a serious issue requires escalation, customers can access engineers with deep knowledge of the Proxmox platform.

This can be especially important when troubleshooting complex issues involving clustering, High Availability, virtualization, storage, networking or other components of a production Proxmox environment.

For enterprises, having a direct escalation route to the software vendor can significantly strengthen the overall infrastructure support strategy.

Faster Response for Critical Incidents

Proxmox Premium includes unlimited support tickets and a two-hour guaranteed first response for qualifying Severity 1 critical support requests.

From October 19, 2026, that Premium support coverage becomes available around the clock.

This is particularly valuable when dealing with major production incidents.

For example, if an organization experiences a critical Proxmox cluster issue during the night or over a weekend, the infrastructure team can immediately open a vendor support request rather than waiting for the next traditional business-hours support window.

The two-hour commitment is a first-response SLA, rather than a guarantee that every issue will be fully resolved within two hours.

Existing Premium Customers Automatically Benefit

Another significant advantage is that existing Proxmox Premium customers do not need to purchase a separate 24/7 support add-on.

Proxmox confirms that 24/7 support is included for existing Premium subscribers from October 19, 2026.

This means organizations already using Premium subscriptions will automatically receive the expanded coverage as part of their existing support plan.

For existing customers, this represents a substantial enhancement to the value of the Premium subscription.

Standard Support Is Also Moving to 24/7

The expansion is not limited to Premium customers.

Proxmox has also announced that Standard subscriptions will gain 24/7 support during Q4 2026, with the current Proxmox subscription information stating that Standard 24/7 support will be available by the end of 2026.

This gives organizations more flexibility when selecting the appropriate enterprise support level based on workload criticality, internal expertise and expected support requirements.

Support Across the Proxmox Platform

The new 24/7 support service is broader than Proxmox VE alone.

It covers:

Proxmox Virtual Environment – the virtualization platform used to operate virtual machines, containers, clusters and High Availability environments.

Proxmox Backup Server – the backup platform used to protect Proxmox workloads and infrastructure.

Proxmox Datacenter Manager – Proxmox’s centralized management platform for managing multiple Proxmox environments.

Having these products covered under the expanded enterprise support model is particularly beneficial for customers building an integrated Proxmox infrastructure rather than operating Proxmox VE as a standalone hypervisor.

An Important Development for Enterprise Proxmox Adoption

The introduction of global 24/7 support also strengthens the case for organizations evaluating Proxmox as their primary enterprise virtualization platform.

When enterprises select a virtualization solution, technical capabilities are only part of the decision.

Organizations also consider questions such as:

  • Can we contact the vendor during a critical outage?
  • Is support available outside normal business hours?
  • Can incidents be escalated directly to vendor engineers?
  • Is there a defined response SLA?
  • Can the platform support mission-critical production environments?

The new support model addresses one of the most important operational requirements for organizations running infrastructure around the clock.

This is particularly relevant for businesses evaluating Proxmox as an alternative to traditional enterprise virtualization platforms.

Greater Confidence for Mission-Critical Proxmox Environments

Proxmox VE is increasingly being deployed in larger and more critical environments.

According to Proxmox, the platform now has more than 2.3 million active Proxmox VE servers worldwide, with growing adoption across enterprise, cloud, healthcare, government and financial sectors.

As deployments become larger and more business-critical, customers naturally expect enterprise-grade support to be available whenever it is needed.

The introduction of global 24/7 enterprise support is therefore an important step in the continued development of the Proxmox enterprise ecosystem.

Vendor Support and Local Proxmox Expertise

24/7 vendor support can also work alongside the services provided by an experienced Proxmox partner.

While Proxmox enterprise support provides direct vendor escalation for the Proxmox platform, customers may still require assistance with the wider infrastructure environment, including:

  • Proxmox architecture and implementation
  • Hardware and storage design
  • Ceph deployment and optimization
  • High Availability configuration
  • Backup and disaster recovery
  • VMware-to-Proxmox migration
  • Monitoring and infrastructure management
  • Performance optimization
  • Training and knowledge transfer

Combining Proxmox 24/7 enterprise support with experienced implementation and managed-services expertise can provide organizations with a comprehensive support model covering both the Proxmox software platform and the underlying infrastructure.

A Significant Step Forward for Proxmox Customers

The launch of Proxmox 24/7 enterprise support is an important development for both existing customers and organizations currently evaluating Proxmox.

From October 19, 2026, Premium customers will have direct access to Proxmox enterprise support at any time of the day, with unlimited tickets and a two-hour first-response SLA for qualifying Severity 1 incidents. Standard customers will also gain 24/7 coverage by the end of 2026.

For customers running mission-critical environments, the biggest benefit is straightforward: when a serious problem occurs, Proxmox vendor support will be available regardless of the time or time zone.

That provides greater confidence for organizations operating Proxmox in production and further strengthens Proxmox’s position as an enterprise virtualization platform.
